Hi! I’m Bri, a proud Bay Area toddler mom, lifelong bookworm, and passionate advocate for diverse storytelling.

I started It’s Lit because I know firsthand how powerful it is to see yourself in the stories you read. As a biracial Black woman, I grew up searching for books that reflected my experiences—only to find that representation was scarce. Even as a literature major in college, I rarely encountered BIPOC authors in the curriculum. It wasn’t until I actively sought out diverse books and connected with like-minded readers that I truly found my literary community.

That’s why I created It’s Lit—to make discovering diverse, joyful, and transformative stories easier for readers who want to expand their bookshelves. I kept hearing from people who wanted to diversify their reading but didn’t know where to start. With our Blind Date with a Book packages, I take the guesswork out of the equation and curate hand-picked reads by incredible BIPOC authors, so you can experience the joy of unwrapping your next favorite book.
