What is It’s Lit?

It’s Lit is an online bookstore dedicated to diverse, joyful, and transformative storytelling. Our mission is to make it easier to discover books by BIPOC authors and underrepresented voices.

We offer Blind Date with a Book mystery boxes, curated book bundles, and thoughtful gifts for book lovers.Whether you’re looking for your next favorite read or a unique bookish gift, we’ve got you covered!

How does Blind Date with a Book work?

Our Blind Date with a Book is a surprise book wrapped up just for you! Choose a genre, and we’ll send you a hand-picked book by a BIPOC author, beautifully wrapped with a handwritten note, plus some extra goodies. It’s a perfect gift for yourself or a fellow book lover!

What genres do you offer?

We currently offer the following genres:
Romance, Fantasy, Science Fiction, Historical Fiction, Literary Fiction, Non-Fiction, Poetry, Short Stories, and Horror.

Not sure what to pick? Try our "Surprise Me!" option!

What if I already own the book?

We try our best to select lesser-known books that you might not have read yet. If you get a duplicate, consider swapping with a fellow reader or gifting it to a friend!

Can I request a specific book?

Part of the fun is the surprise! While we can’t take specific title requests, you can mention hard no’s (e.g., any trigger warnings or topics to avoid) when adding your book to your cart.

Where do you ship?

We currently ship within the U.S. If you're international, stay tuned—we're working on expanding worldwide shipping soon!

How long does shipping take?

We process orders within 3-5 business days. Shipping times vary based on location and items purchased:
Blind Date with a Book: Standard Shipping (USPS Media Mail) – 5-10 business days

*Please note processing/shipping for merch such as hats and sweatshirts may take longer as they are printed on demand.

You’ll receive a tracking number as soon as your order ships!

How much does shipping cost?

Flat Rate Shipping: $5.00.

🎁 GIFTS & SPECIAL REQUESTS

Can I send a book as a gift?

Absolutely! Our books make the perfect gift. At checkout, just enter the recipient’s address and email us with a gift note at support@itslitbooks.club. We’ll take care of the rest!

Do you offer custom book bundles?

Yes! If you’d like a custom-themed book bundle (e.g., Books by Black Women, Latinx Romance, Spooky Reads), send us an email at support@itslitbooks.club, and we’ll curate something special for you.

💳 PAYMENTS & RETURNS

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards plus Apple Pay and ACH.

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

Because our books are hand-selected and surprise picks, all sales of Blind Date with a Book packages are final. However, if your order arrives damaged or incorrect, reach out to us at support@itslitbooks.club within 7 days, and we’ll make it right!

For merch products, send us an email within 7 days and we’ll help you out!
